Black Women In Study

Where Black women study power and collective life

A place to sit with
what shapes us.

Black Women In Study is an ongoing political reading practice for Black women who want to think together — slowly, deeply, and in relationship — about the forces that shape our lives.

Capitalism.
Power.
The State.
Patriarchy.
Empire.
Abelism.
Carcerality.
Care.

We read not to escape what we are living inside of, but to understand it more clearly. To steady ourselves, to sharpen our perception, and to remember that clarity, too, is a form of care & protection.

This is a space for Black women who feel the pull toward political maturity, women who want to stay awake, stay connected, and who know that understanding power is part of how we remain rooted, responsive, and alive.

Black Women In Study begins with our first book in April 2026

This is an ongoing political reading practice.

Each month, we’ll read one book together. We’ll gather virtually for collective sense-making and conversation, and we’ll also share a dedicated online space for reflection, study, and optional connection throughout the month.

This practice is an offering of care and commitment to Black women, offered at no cost.
