My work centers on doing life, business, and motherhood differently.

I work with people whose work is countercultural, liberatory, and revolutionary in nature...or people who desire and are committed to moving their work or lives in that direction.

If I’m honest, I find it really difficult to write about myself.

I feel like the words that I could use to draw upon to share with you about who I be are not truly an accurate reflection or representation of who I truly am.

Essentially, I feel deeper, sweeter, flyer, vaster than any words or title could ever hold. Yet. I must use words so that you, my potential comrade, friend, lover, or client can know more about who I am. So, with that in mind, I give you the words below.

“I got a little pot in my belly
So now a days my figure ain't so fly
My dress ain't cost nothin' but seven dollars
But I made it fly
And I'll tell ya why
But I'm clever when I bust a rhyme
I'm cleva always on ya' mind”
-Erykah Badu

I come from a lineage of innovation and determination and a history of culture, tradition, and possibility, which all help inform my belief that there is always a way through...we just need to find the best route and be in a relationship with the right people.

MOTHERHOOD

“Mama’s are going to survive because mamas create families, communities, relationships, and new ecologies that are rooted in humanity’s survival.”
- Mai’a Williams

I am the mother of four sons, including a set of twins, and I had my first child at twenty-two. Each of my sons has a different father, except for my twins, meaning I have children with three different men. I parent my youngest three sons on my own and co-parent my oldest through a parallel parenting arrangement with his father.

Throughout my parenting journey, I have been on and off welfare, as I do not receive consistent child support from the fathers of my three youngest sons.

It is essential for me to speak openly and honestly about my experience of Black motherhood—the kind that is often shamed and criticized rather than celebrated. By sharing my truth, I push back against the false, stereotypical narratives that have been unfairly placed on Black single mothers.

Motherhood is central to who I am. It shapes my politics, my perspectives, and the way I move through the world. It is a powerful, transformative force that touches every part of my life. It has been both one of my greatest teachers and one of my greatest challenges. Because the work of mothering and caretaking continues to be undervalued and overlooked, I choose to speak about it, honor it, and give it the recognition it deserves.

BUSINESS + ENTREPRENUERSHIP

“The business world was made for dads with wives who raised the kids and frosted the cakes.” -Nathalie Molina Nino

I've always been an entrepreneur and a creative in some capacity, but for the past five years, I've been fully self-employed, earning a living that sustains me and my family.

Before stepping into full-time entrepreneurship, I worked in corporate America, starting my first job at 15. My career spanned Human Resources and various administrative support roles across multiple industries. My journey into working for myself began as a virtual assistant, then an online business manager, and now as a Growth + Impact Strategist, a title given to me by my friend, mentor, and teacher Nisha Moodley.

I have some college education, with about 24 credits remaining for a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration. I have no desire to complete the degree. Like many, I carry student loan debt, medical debt, and credit card debt from the years I spent balancing work, motherhood, and the pursuit of higher education.

My experiences as a Black woman and a mother in corporate America have deeply shaped how I approach entrepreneurship and business. Both identities are often disregarded in traditional business spaces. This has reinforced my belief that the old model, which prioritizes profit and growth at the expense of people, land, and relationships, needs to be replaced. I choose to practice entrepreneurship in a way that is more humane, just, and nurturing.

I am a lifelong learner, deeply curious, incredibly resourceful, and passionate about helping others see their potential. I love sparking excitement about possibility and transformation. My genius lies in strategic thinking and my ability to recognize patterns and opportunities where others see only complexity.

In every aspect of my life, whether as a woman, a mother, or an entrepreneur, I am committed to showing up as my full, authentic self. I embrace my complexities because I believe there is power in being fully expressed, especially in a world that so often insists I shouldn’t be.
